| For anyone who has Cable for their internet connection, how good are the speeds for gaming? I know the speeds they claim but cable can slow down if alot of people are on at the same time. So, I was wondering what other people think about cable. I'm looking into dropping my phone, internet, and blockbuster subscription to go with cable for all of those things instead. |

| Depends on what you get. I got the maximum internet possible plus a booster. So I'm rockin an rollin. It depends on your computer to. Just make sure you tell them what you're gonna be using the computer for, and they can reccomend a speed. |

| We use cable and used to have 4 people on at once with no slow downs at all. My modem is about dead so I can't say that anymore, but I'm pretty sure even during times when people were downloading it ran fine with games. |

| cable is good. i get a solid 100 mbps incoming, but all the bandwidth isn't used at times. i ping at 0 in minneapolis, so u should have 0 as well in chicago on fugazi. the only issue is making sure your connection is secure if u live in an apartment if u are going to be wireless. |

Ok good. My only concern is, from what I have heard in the past, when alot of people that live near you go online at the same time your connection will slow. I'm in a house and not an apartment, but it's still a populated area. However, from what people are saying this doesn't seem to be an issue and perhaps they have fixed this sort of thing.
Right now I have dsl but live a few blocks from At&T. So, I get about the best dsl connection possible. But, I may save money by going with cable so I'm looking to go that route. |

| I don't know too much about internet connections so I can't really comment about that. That's weird though I've never heard that before. Then again, I live in a really small town so that could be why. Pretty sure they're gonna send x bandwidth for you to use and it won't be slower since other people are on their own. |

yeah, idk about cable's reliability when taking into consideration the activity of others in the area. it all really depends on what sort of cable they are running for their internet; i would guess that just to handle the work load they would be running high band width fiber optic, which should have the capacity to make that a non issue due to it's being incredibly fast. i wouldn't be suprised if this was an issue when cable internet first came out, as they were prob using the old infrastructure that they had for incoming cable television transmissions handling the bulk of the data load... in a town like chicago, depending on how close you are to the city centre, i imagine this update would be quick to happen.
i'm not sure though, you may still wish to ask them about their infrastructure. also, i might be completely wrong, as this is an un researched but educated guess. |

| I use to be on cable and my fps and ping are the same as they're now, I guess it all depends on where you're situated and how many people are on the same cable line. |
